I enjoyed another coin show today in Bessemer Civic Center in Bessemer, Alabama. It was put on by the Alabama Numismatic Society. The selection of coins was great with lots of dealers with some wonderful inventory.

I sold some silver dollars and purchased around 100 "junk" coins in the 1 to 5 dollar range as well as a great near complete set of 1909-1990 lincoln pennies and a near complete set of Mercury dimes from a dealer who was serious about moving inventory. Needless to say I had a blast!

Anyone within a couple hours drive from there should take a trip. There was no entry fee and prices were reasonable from several dealers whose inventory I inspected. Sincerely, John Leckrone

I was at that show this morning (I grew up in Bessemer-moved away in 1971). That was my first coin show ever. I had a great time and purchased quiet a few coins (mostly proof kennedys, washingtons, jeffersons and a couple of mercurys-only one merc to go-can you guess which one). I also bought a 1926 Oregon, one of my favorite coins. Being my first show, I cannot compare it to other shows, but I had a great time and saw some really great coins.

I didn't realize ya'll were so close to me; I'm in the Auburn/Opelika area. Is this an ongoing show or a one shot deal? I had yesterday free but didn't hear about the show.

Being a coin show nut I'm always interested in more information on those shows. For example about how many dealers? How many tables and how many dealers had more than one table? How many days was that show? How often do they have them? I'm no where near there but there might well be many on this forum that are so fill them in so they may make the next one and meet you there.
