Out and about today, and picked this sweet piece up.
I'm not whole heartedly into Indian heads yet, but when you find one that looks like this at a good price, you don't pass it up.

I'm thinking about upgrading this piece into my type set.

What do you think...this is the piece I am replacing.
I like the way this coin looks though...and it came from a family collection. One of those tough decisions in life

Hi, Mike, That is a hard decision, but the 1902 is a beautiful coin.

Your 1907 looks damaged. I would replace it and find another special spot for your family coin.

That chip on the 07 is one of the things I like the most about the coin.
I'm thinking that the new coin will wind up in the type book,or at least in a book somewhere in my collection.

Yeah, I totally agree with Chris. Both are nice, but maybe the family coin should stay in the family collection, and the 1902 in the 'mrwisker type set'?

Well..It's been done.
I changed the picture on My page (see my signature)
Now to put it in the book.
It looks real nice with the other two in the type set.
There is just something about that pronounced cheek and full liberty that makes these coins

I agree with Chris and zee. Those emotional ties to family heirlooms are hard to deal with but it appears you made the right decision. The Indian cents can become an addiction there are so many varieties and errors.
