Hi -- I just got the Whitman Canadian Small Cents folder... http://www.whitmanbooks.com/Default...D=079482479XProblem is that since I live in the US how can I get rolls of Canadian cents to search through? I checked with my bank but they just mix Canadian and US cents and I also called some Canadian banks but they said they don't mail them. I hope to visit Canada someday but for now I need to find the rolls locally. Thank you! p.s. I do find one or Two Cents per month just in US change so I am at least getting some :)

Uhhhmmm .... some thoughts ....
Take a vacation to the great land up North and buy rolls.
Strike up a friendship with Canadian members of this forum and have them send you rolls.
Buy them on-line.
You will not find full rolls of Canadian coins in the USA .....
Best wishes with your searching ..... look forward to hearing about your finds
David

some people sell the Canadian copper cents in bulk. You could probably find someone selling a 60lb lot.

I'm fortunate to have some Canadian friends who visit now and again. When they are coming, I let them know how much Canadian change I have saved up (living in Michigan, I get quite a lot--right now I have about $14). They bring me that amount in penny rolls from their bank, and I give them the Canadian change to take home and use.
Then I can just roll up the Canadian cents along with my American ones and trade them in at my bank.
I know it doesn't help you, but that's how I do it.
Where do you live that you only get one or two Canadians a month?

I think the main problem is that the cost of shipping is prohibitive (otherwise I see I could buy some in bulk on the Internet).
I think my best is going to be: 1.) Continue to just find them in US change (easier when I was a kid -- harder now that we pay with credit card for so much so don't get a lot of change :)) 2.) Hope that some day a co-worker, friend, neighbor, etc. will go to Canada on vacation and then will be willing to bring back some rolls. 3.) and of course hope that I get to visit Canada someday!!
Thank you!

Are you near any of the Canadian banks (TD) that operate in the states? They may be a source.

Contact dealers near US border towns (Blaine, etc.) ask how much to ship 'unsearched' rolls. 100+/- rolls fit in a medium flat rate box for $9.95.

You can get three cebt boxes in a flat-rate box, ( I have purchased "P" boxes this way. Thw idea is to find someone who lives close enough to the border, and has contact with someone on the other side, who has an account in the Canadian bank, and who can get rolled cents. then after you get the two, or three boxes, call UPS,or FedEX,,and even USPS will move them). Thety are heavey, (ask my lady m,ail carrier)! It always helps to Sweeten the pot"! ie I send $100.00 to pay for three boxes, and the rtecipient does the "leg-work, and posts the boxes, AND keeps the change. Always worth a try! Dick

How far are you from Toronto to travel there? If you could contact a forum member from that huge city that has a bank account, they could probably help you out. You would have to drive up to Canada (or by bus) and open a bank account otherwise.
I guess where I'm going is I have coppers, zincs, steels, all separated ready to go with mixed dates, I just need a buyer. Unfortunately I think you need something like 200 posts to trade/buy/sell here.

I came up with a great idea. I had some stamps from an old collection. I am not a big stamp collector but I had these and they were kept nice and had some value. So I scanned them all and put them on a web page. Then I went to the Canadian Stamps Dealers website ( http://www.csdaonline.com/ ) and found a lot of stamp dealers email addresses in Canada. I wrote to everyone on that list and asked if anyone would trade some Canadian circulated coins for the stamps. I wrote to about 50 people and finally a person responded and we made the trade. They sent me a wonderful selection of pennies, nickels and dimes and I sent them the stamps. Both parties were very happy and it was a lot of fun! Now I can concentrate on filling holes and harder-to-find dates. I have found an online dealer that I really like ( Falcon Coins http://www.falconcoins.com/ ) and also I found a guy who goes to the local show here and so brings Canadian to sell/trade. So all worked out great!
