Welcome to the forum first of all!

Why, the grade is stamped below the date, of course!

There would be plenty of people to help you with the grade right here. You do need to post pictures for us, though. Borrow a camera, invest in a better one, there are always different uses for a good camera.

Otherwise you may look into finding a local coin shop/dealer and most of those would be happy to help. Check the upcoming coin shows in the area.
Good luck!

Hello, olrik.. welcome to the Forum.

You should pick up a Charlton Canadian Coin Catalogue, you will find a lot of information in there.

and,.... yes.. we would have to see pics to grade any coins you have.

Enjoy the Forums...

Olrik, sometimes our humor is lost on some. Again welcome and ask as many questions as you can. You might want to find an inexpensive digital camera to shoot and post your coins on the forum to determine grade or value. Just shoot your coins in direct or muted sunlight with an inexpensive tripod. There's a lot of knowledge here from many different countries. Enjoy the forum.

Hi Olrik, I'm quite a newbie to coins and as an active member in here. I don't know grading yet other than bad shape or good shape, condition issues etc so can't help you there, but ...

Here is a site I use for reference a lot to get an idea about dates and varieties. I hope it helps.

1947 happens to have some varieties so look closely. I hope you can somehow post some photos. This forum has a lot of great people and experienced or experts. Great help for us new people.
