I'm going to follow the American forum example. Found a great coin in a penny roll? Share it! My first box I found a 1932 cent. It was the only Canadian coin I found that wasn't the current maple leaf design until a box last week - I found 6 coins with King Georve V: I just wish that I had remembered which bank I got this box from, as I keep four boxes of pennies at a time, and frequent three different banks. I went back to my CIBC for two boxes, it wasn't there. I'm going to have to hit the TD again, but I can't get there until Thursday when they're open until 8pm. Hopefully it was them, and they have boxes of coins from the same dumper :) Edited by splatto 07/18/2010 10:33 pm

Wow! I've only got ten George V cents in all, and you find six in one box. Not bad.

Here's one I found in a new box that has been eluding me for quite some time Hmm, it doesn't look pointed here in the scan. I'll see if I can get a better picture that shows the point

I'm glad you can see it MrCanada. It's much more pronounced in hand than it is in the scan. I was pretty happy to finally cross this one off the list !

For pennies that was my last, but they always seem to find another variety to keep me hunting, like the 06.

Congrats - I've found one George V (1928) in a U.S. roll, and I hope to find more. They're pretty rare down here but I love the design. I may have to take a trip North of the Border to pick up some rolls!!

Wow, the best I can find is George heads from the 1940s. That's a great box indeed! Sometimes I find more Zincolns than overall coppers, although I found 4 Wheaties in this Canadian box.

Very nice, oldest George I've found is a 39.... I find it easier to find wheats here then George's sometimes. Oldest wheat find is a 1919! edit : Nice timing, 4 rolls into this box and now the oldest is a 38

I just found at least 15+ common 1960's pennies in a coin jar. What are these "Boxes" people keep talking about from banks?

Banks get change in "boxes" from either a federal reserve or 3rd parties. US boxes are as follows 1c 25$, 5c $100, 10c $250, 25c $500, 50c $500

I started doing this a month ago.It is time consuming and so far not much rewarding but still a lot of fun.I am getting a fair number of AU pieces from the 1970's and 80's.So far 3 foreign coins as well.A 1980 Barbados 1 cent,a 2005 Republika Hrvatska 5 Lira and a England 1997 1 Penny that I will pass to my grandson. Also found countless USA 1 cents and 2 US dimes.
