Yeah, we're meeting at a Dave&Busters. That's also why I didn't want to write him a check - it has my address and all on it. I'll post up some scans later tonight (and put the currency in the proper folder).

The silver certificates aren't anything special, on the twos look for a 28 A or 28 B series. Everything else is common.

I think you'll do OK if you live through the experience. Of course I only say that because of all the reservations expressed in this thread. Am I naive? Is Craig's list really that bad? I don't know because I've never gone to the site.

I found my car on Craigslist, and have been very happy. It's like any other site; there's good and bad to be found.

I've bought and sold through CL before. Just don't meet in dark alleys on the bad side of town :)

Well, he had some higher offers that he wants to pursue. Guess it wasn't meant to be.

If you think anout it this way...Craigslist is nothing more than the for sale section in your local newspaper.
But on a much larger scale.
Whenever I do any deals in person, I always, without exception, make the deal somewhere other than my home.
It helps keep the honest people honest, and it keeps business away from personal.

I've heard good and bad about such deals. Usually the bad ones are posted on the internet somewhere so difficult to believe. My next door neighbor swears by Craigslist. Espeacially the free stuff. He went and picked up a refregerator, a stove, sheets of boards, many other things for free. He sold cars, campers via that same list and never a problem.
As to those coins and currency. I know nothing about currency values but those coins appear to be just normal, nothing special coins. I wouldn't do it but you never know you may find something of value. Not much to loose since your getting pretty much close to face value.
