Paying $65 for this tomorrow night.

http://austin.craigslist.org/clt/1854227296.html

Any kind of ballpark guess as to what all this is worth assuming melt value on the coins and only good value on the currency?

I know some of the bills could be much rarer than others, but I'm assuming that it's all just common stuff.

Did I do good? Or is my wife gonna kill me?

It's all common stuff, but over all I don't think you did that bad. It would be interesting to see all the dates and better pictures for the condition of everything, though.

I know nothing about the paper, but can you tell us how many 1964 halves there are?

Going by the picture, it looks like just one of the '64s, with the other 17 being '65 to '69. Isn't melt for that around $50 or so?

I had the same question - why not cash? Every time I've bought something off of Craigslist I've paid cash. I haven't had any problems before now.

if you exchange the cash in person... what is he going to do take your cash and run away from you with his coins?

if its in person, that's fine, but if you send your cash in the mail, I'd be careful.

Oh, it's face-to-face. I wouldn't do it any other way. I'll probably just wind up selling the bills, I'm more into coins.

The point of craigslist is face to face deals.
At least that has always been my take on it

Agreed! I would never take a check or something like that selling or buying from craigslist. If you pay for something on craigslist and use paypal you must be stupid because your money is gone. Cash and face to face is the only way to go!

If you figure average $3.50 per coin (rough estimate) you're at $54 value on the halves. I'm not real familiar with currency, but I'm thinking you didn't do to bad. Cash is the only way to go with craigslist, and always meet face to face. there are scams there just like ebay, but these are easier to spot. I sold a car through CL, and bought some tokens. Always use cash.

Concerning Craigslist, If you meet face to face I would suggest doing it at a place other then your home for safety reasons.Just saying.
