I can across this dollar and noticed a large die break under the mound on the reverse. I see no mention of it on VAM world or in the book. Could this be an un-recorded VAM or just an error?

Pretty hard to tell from the pictures, but it looks like the effect extends into the rim, so I'll guess planchet flaw.

Tough call - a Cud is on the list of possibilities - but I tend to agree, zeewool. It has the appearance of a lamination, especially on the right side.

I am not so sure. I think this could be a new Cud and in a very cool location if it is. Reason I say that is the cuddletts to the left of the main Cud. (if you will) This lends to being a Cud IMO. Too bad it is in the shape it is. If I owned it I would send it to Leroy.

Those "cuddletts" on this coin look amazingly similar to the denticles on the Morgan that it was most likely pressed against, don't they?
