i was cleaning out my new house and found a 1851 penny I am not for sure if it is a liberty or what it is but it is the size of a quarter and eight sided if any one has any info and about how much it is worth I will happy to hear thanks

America hasn't ever issued octagonal cents. I can't even recall any country issuing octagonal coins back in 1851. I assume it's a token of some sort... post a pic and we might be able to find some more info.

I agree with Sap. There has never been an official octagonal U.S. coin. There were some territorial gold pieces issued in California by assayers, and it just happened to be 1851, but if you had one of these you would know it right off the bat.
