I can find the value for buffalo's that are G4 but where do they fall when acid was used to determine the date? Is it half of good, 3/4 of good?

Generally between 10 and 25% of G4

It all really depends on the rarity of the coin in question. I've gotten upwards of 50% of G for a TyII 13D.

This is definitely a place where something is worth what someone is willing to pay.
Probably highly variable, I might take one a rare date, but basically they are worthless to me.
someone will lay down some honest cash for some of them.

If I can sell them for $0.25, I would be happy. Usually paying about $.15 for them. No real numismatic value unless a key date. Check the CDN on dateless buffaloes.

Some of the key dates that have been restored have done OK in auctions on this site, as well as ebay. Alot of that depends on the restoration job too though. I don't think I've seen any go for 50% of book though...10-20% usually.

if its in such bad shape and worn the date is not vis without acid then its worth a nickel in my opinion
unless its a key date.
However people at flea markets and craft fairs use the worn nickles. your best bet is to find someone that makes braclets, hat bands, belt buckles western/indian style items and sell um to that person . You might get more money
being they will buy 50 -100 or as many as you have provided they are selling their stuff and making decent money

I've talked to someone who fills folders with acid dated buff 5cents. he makes nice money when he completes them. Some people will pay 40-50% of the actual value for the nickels.

I do a LOT of this (restoring Buffaloes and selling them). When I do it, I restore the whole nickel. The amount you can sell them for really depends on how good the restoration is. I've sold 1913-S T2's for as much as $120.00 and as little as $40.00. If the nickel date and MM combination qualifies it as a key or semi-key and it's a nice restoration you can expect to sell it for 25% to 30% (on average) of VG.

Check the second link, below, for photos of what I consider to be "good" restorations.

weersteev, your link is missing. I usually see them go for 1/10-1/5th of G4 prices for the semi-keys and keys.
