Let's see if you all are as generous towards this guy as you were to my Half Dime :) Personally I think this one has great eye appeal (nice pleasing dark tone with decent luster remaining), though the pictures again don't do it justice.

Are the vertical lines on the shield worn or polished off? or just not visible in the picture

LOVE that toning! EF-45, perhaps AU-50, although there is weakness in ER so I'm thinking no higher than EF. Again, could just be the pics being subversive.

This was a nice coin until someone polished down the shield perhaps to put there initials on it. If the coin wasn't altered it would probably grade AU-50, but IMO because of the damage it's un-gradeable.

You guys are good, no doubts there. The worn-off look of the shield lines is a result of my inability to take good pics. I tried again, but without a tripod and not having set up the proper lighting, this is the best I could do.

With the stripes and bars visible on the shield I would say AU-50.
