I know, I know-dont buy unsearched wheats. Hadn't bought any coins in a few days so I bid on a roll of wheats on ebay advertised as "sold as acquired". Paid $3.24 including shipping. Of course most are 40's and 50's; but I did get two teens (19 and a pretty good 16), four twenties (25, 26, 27, 29), three thirties (2-30's, 37) and two indians, one a fair 07 and a 1902 at f12. Nothing spectacular but for the price I am satisfied.

My take on ebay rolls is bid on what you know and expect nothing extra.
In this case you got a couple coins worth more than several cents, so you came a little ahead.
Plus your paying for a dream, kind of like buying a lottery ticket, you know it won't happen but it's worth a couple of bucks for the thrill.

I agree with upstate. I probably buy 5-10 of these rolls a month, and never expect to find a 1909-S-VDB. I have gotten a couple of semi-key dates such as 1922-D, but nothing really crazy, and its always fun to go through a roll of previously searched, "unsearched" wheats. lol.

Thats a good price you got. The last roll of wheat cents I bought was all from 1940-1958....so yea...I think you got a great deal!
