However, it is Liberty's hair, not Mercury's (I love the symbolism of this coin representing freedom of thought... it would never be minted today ;) Report this Post to the Staff

In fact, though I am a darksider, this is probably my favorite US coin design. (P.S. Yes, I knew it is a depiction of liberty, but "mercury" is still used as a slang amongst many for this coin design since so many people back when these circulated thought that it was in fact Zeus's traveling companion who was depicted.)
