Well dont get too excited!! It wasnt my first ever metal detector but it was the card that the P.O leave to say they had my detector but was no hime to accept it. I'm so pumped up right now! I cant wait to use it tomorrow. I ordered the Garrett Ace 250 after reading some posts on here that it was the best for beginners. Well my questions is what kind of batteries does thing take? Any advice with the ace would be great. thanks!! Also anyone else from alberta on here

Nice! I like my White's GMT. I need a coin detector but this one does find coins. Made for gold.

In England, they use metal detectors to find old coin hoards, in Oz, they use them for finding gold nuggets.

Actually they use them in Arizona to find gold on public lands also. A lot of people make a small fortune looking for nuggets in the desert.

Well I just got in from my first ever hunt and even though I didnt come up with much I had a blast. I only spent an hour on the ace 250 but found most of my stuff in the last half. I learned quite a bit in that time too. So even though I found 5 pennies and 1 nickel is was fun! All the coins were canadian from the 60's and 70's. Can wait till after work tommorow. O ya and I found a La senza girl button from a jacket. Keep in mind I was at an elementry school across the street from my house!
