Due to my job I get to visit various countries ever so often. Can you find US coins overseas for steeply discounted prices like you can find foreign coins here in the states?

I am not talking about the stall vendors (Afganistan etc...) and such, I am more interested in the established coin shops. LOL

Buyer beware. That's all I can say. They may not be genuine.

I don't visit coin shops in the UK because the US selection is very limited and find I can typically strike a better deal from kind folk here on CCF. You might have a totally different experience.

From legitimate dealers you might be able to find you coins at a SMALL discount but not a steep one. Legitimate dealers know the value of the US coins (After all the market for US coins is one of the largest in the world.) They may not have customers for them at home, but believe me if it is a seriously valuable coin they will ship it back to their contacts in the US for sale. (This tends to happen here with valuable world coins as well. If quality rare coins are bringing more in their home countries they tend to get shipped home.)
