Hello. I was hoping that someone here could help me. I inherited a few current gold eagle proofs and haven't had any luck online figuring their value.

I know about spot pricing but with coins and especially proofs I'd like to get some feedback before I attempt to sell them as I understand it some years are considered key dates for reasons I'm probably not aware of. I've also checked ebay but can't seem to find many year 2000 except the $5 coin.

It's a mixed set of 4 coins (all West Point mint) Three of them ($5,$10,$25)are year 2000. The $50 coin is a 2004. All are NGC cert. pf69 ultra cameo.

Any feedback you could offer would be greatly appreciated. I have a video of them as well- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YpXv443SheI
Excuse the vid quality...

Not a expert on proof gold eagles. From hanging out in coin shops a lot, it seems like they like them to have the original govt. case and holder. So not sure how the price is impacted, with it being slabbed.

To me this might be a case where it is not worth more being slabbed ... unless it was MS-70 grade.

Just my opinion.

Here is a link to a price guide, I hope it helps.

Original Government Packaging, often abbreviated OGP, will add to the value of these coins. Please let us know if you have it or not.

Without the Government Packaging and in the NGC slabs, values will be in this ballpark. $5:$160, $10:$400, $25:$800, $50:$1600.

These dates are not increasing the value of the coins, the fact that they are proofs do make them desirable. You should be able to get about $3,000 for the group.

I've sold to ModernCoinMart several times and gotten fair deals. It is worth giving them a call to get a quote.

Thank you both. You told me exactly what I was looking for. I had figured them to be right in that range also but wanted to double check that I don't have something more valuable than I thought. As far as OGP, no he had purchased them (4 year sets) in slabs from God knows where lol. Anyways, ty again and I'll check out that link you posted.
