How Many Coins Do You Search Through?

Its hard to say was doing 2 boxes a week but now I buy them bulk so maybe 3500 a week

Halves I can go thru pretty fast - 4 boxes a week is easy. Cents take longer - a box takes a couple weeks. So it varies depending on what I'm searching.

Myself, I tend to go in spurts...

Generally get a roll of dollars every payday. The ones I don't need are spending money and I actually carry/spend them. (Hey the gov wants them circulating, I'm doing my part!)

All other pocket change I get goes into a jar, and when the jar gets full-ish I go through it. Maybe once every couple of months?

Friends & family also know I collect so some will do similar and when they have a bunch they'll "sell" it to me. And then sometimes when the wife is complaining her purse is too heavy I'll raid that too.

And then on extreme occasion I'll get a roll or two of something else from the bank "just because"

I've only recently begun looking for errors though and I think it's like any skill and it goes faster the more you do it.

I haven't searched any coins with dependable stats in a while now, but back when I did, I would often go through about 50 rolls a day. I currently have half a million to go through, so I haven't bought any bank boxes in years.

My son and I usually have $25 in change rolls (sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less). Most days, I can get to the bank and trade them in for whatever he's asked me to get. Today, for example, I'll pick up a roll of quarters and three rolls of dimes.

I also save out all the Canadian change I get. We have a friend who visits from Canada once in a while; when she does, she'll pick up rolls of cents equal to what I have for her in Canadian change. Right now, I'm at $15.50, so I could get 31 rolls of Canadian cents to look at. Where's my '85 pointed 5?!

I might do a box of cents every two months. Halves I will search every time time I am able to get them, whether it be everyday or every six months.
