Just wanted to express how much I love my local coin shop.

There are about 5 or so in the immediate area to choose from but the one I go to is really friendly, feels clean, has great prices, and takes care of their repeat customers.

One other cool thing they do is they have giveaways all the time.

A couple weeks ago they had a coupon for a free roll of wheaties. This may not sound like a big deal ( I know you're thinking 40-50's) but the rolls all consisted of teens -30's with a couple random (nice grade) IHC and some 20's BU. probably a $15-$20 Roll for free.

And just this week

"This week's (08/03-08/07)"are you visiting our web-site regularly?" special:
Be one of the first ten customers to come in to the shop and tell us you saw this
here and we'll give you a mixed roll of Jefferson nickels from 1939 thru 1958
FREE. Limit of one Roll of 1939-1958 Mixed Jefferson's per person or family unit."

I had my wife go pick one up. I haven't looked at it yet, but id be willing to bet there are a few War Nickels in there.

Anyone else have fun friendly shops like that in their area?

And if anyone is in the Lynnwood WA area and is interested in this shop shoot me a pm and ill tell you who it is (i think it would be against the rules to post them? Although, if you're internet savvy, it wouldn't be hard to find)

I wish! The only store that's convenient to me treats me like the plague. All other shops are a 45 minute drive or more.

Sounds like a excellent place. I'll have to make it a point to visit Lynnwood, when I travel to WA in a couple of months.

I've got to find a good local coin shop. I want to see what I'm buying before I buy for a change. Store photo looks real clean and bright.

That's great that your coin shop does give-aways like that!

I like my coin shop. It's clean and the guy who owns it is always very helpful. He'll also round the price down when he's adding up my totals. I don't get any coins in change but sometimes he rounds down enough that I get a couple of the things I'm buying for free!

Yea I like when theres almost an implied "take the price down"

I get about %5-10 off of everything I buy, unless its already bottom line, like bullion related items.

Consider yourself in the presence of one of a kind place. If you ever visited the ones around me you would think they don't want your buisness. I actually had a sales person at one place walk away from me saying sorry it's lunch time. Come back later.

There are only 3 shops within a 50 mile radius of me and none like the one you describe. Made purchases at all of them, but really never look forward to visiting them. Two of them also sell guns as their main business and coin prices are extremely high and if your not buying a gun, you're a second rate customer. The third one doesn't let customers browse thru coin books, you tell them what you want and they hand it to you. Somewhat like the merchant shops of long ago. Spent a couple thousand dollars so far this year and none of it in these shops.

I like my shop. Generally get in there once or twice a month. Not a fan of one of the guys there, but get along real well with everyone else. Once in a while, they will sell me silver at their buy price.

Wow, that entrepreneur has chosen one the most efficient strategy to use for marketing. Very powerful act if compared to newspaper ads for example.

It is always nice to have a shop that makes you feel welcome and they act as though they really appreciate your business instead of acting as though you bother them and are wasting their time. There are 2 shops (one especially) around me that really go the extra mile as far as being friendly and helpful no matter if your spending $2 or your spending $200 on a coin. Nobody around here does any free stuff very often though, it sounds like you are really lucky to have a place like that near you.

Everytime I get change at my local shop, they give me JFK half-dollars & 2 dollar bills back. Nothing worth anything more than face of course, but neat nonetheless!
