Nice set but he doesn't specify the shipping on it. Also, to offer that type of set and not provide any pictures at all is unbelievable. I'm sure this is a probably a legitimate auction, but he could have gone to a little more effort since he's looking for someone to spend $40000 with him. I doubt very much he'll get that opening bid with the few feedback he has and no stated shipping.

There are pictures on that auction, they may not be great pictures but there are pictures none the less, some people just cant take a good picture. he also states in his auction that "Buyer is responsible for all shipping charges,must have insurance on shipping. Wow. Now all I need to do is come up with 40 grand. Do you think my parents will notice if the car's gone?

I only have two Morgan's (1921 passed down from my Great Uncle who loved U.S. currency, and an 1881 which I picked up in Athens, Greece of all places)and have always thought about starting a collection. If only this auction started at 0.99c no reserve!

As a Post Script while my mind still lingers on this collection, I've seen too many lots of Morgan sales such as this in which there were only one or two key or high grade coins with the rest relatively common Morgans of no particular value. I suspect anyone with $40K to burn would do better to piece together their own collection one at a time.

I don't think the seller is gonna get his $40K. Anyone with $40K is gonna know better than to fall for the "instant Morgan collection" notion, especially since there's really only one or two keepers. If he's trying to maximize his gain from the collection, he would be better off getting them graded first (about $2850 grading cost), then selling them one at a time.

And a buyer would be better off going to a reputable dealer or major auction house for the 93-S where s/he would have some sort of guarantee of its authenticity, grade, and condition. Superior is auctioning off at least one slabbed 93-S and there's several 93-S's on ebay right now (including at least two counterfeit, duly reported).

Yes, even if I had $40K, I wouldn't consider buying this collection. It's just not worth it.

He also said I could come look at the coins first hand if wanted before I bid, and if I wanted pictures of a specific coin to let him know and he would take the pictrure of each coin I needed
