Recently , my uncle gave me a coin from the "An Hwei Province" , the obverse shows a dragon with the words "7 Mace and 2 Candareens. The reverse shows some Chinese letters. Can anyone give me more info on this coin?

If it were real, it would be catalog number Y#45.3. weighs 27.1 grams, and would be .900 silver. It does however look to be a facsimile. I am not sure if GX has more reasons why, however, to me, the wearing in the fields don't seem to look right if it were silver.

Thanks for the help! I was suspecting it wasn't silver because it sticks to a magnet .

Don't let this be a set back or a negative. Go find a local coin club you will find many REAL coins and friends there that can teach you.

Y#45.3 is year 24 (1898).

This coin is dated year 23 (1897), which is Y#45.1, and would be much rarer if it were real.

Too bad your coin is not authentic.
I have an authentic 1911 China Yunnan 50 Cent Silver Dragon.

The dragon design is the same as on your coin. I really like the dragon design.
