Can anyone tell me what this is? I remember buying it back in the 80's, don't remember why.
I cant find much info on it. I want to get it labeled for future reference. Is it clad or silver?
Worthless or worth something. Thanks for any help.

I believe this is a commemorative medal, made of sterling silver, that went with a first day of cover stamp. Not sure how much it is worth, especially since it seems to be separated from the stamp and envelope it would have originally came with. From what I remember though, some are quite rare, depending upon year and issue #

Sorry! My guess would be P-O-S-T-M-A-S-T-E-R-S-I-N-S-P-A-C-E!

I've have never seen anything like this. I know that certain Government Offices can solicit to have coins or medals made, but most are private issue. I'm sure some member involved with the USPS will chime in eventually.

BTW, I think it was a sequel to Space Balls. LOL

Thanks for the info waredu. Looks like the price of silver is about it. I checked ebay earlier but nothing came up. Must have had a typo because after I got your link I found several more. None were the same as mine but they were from the same series.

BLUEZONE, I checked my token books and found nothing on your exonumia (sp)(if that's what ever one calls it). I also did a thorough search of all tokens and commercial coins of 1974....no luck. I think you have two choices: send an email to Coin World with the same info you posted here, or send it to the ANA Research Guys for a study. I tried the latter once and back then it was 40 bucks and hour (and I was a member then). I have no idea what it would cost today.

I found a list of them from 75'. This is the Mariner 10 Space Mission #8. Appears they are
only worth the silver. Thanks for the help.
