2 is the most I've gotten at once - but I usually get those with a box of nickels and a few rolls of dimes and quarters ($200 total).

I've picked up a total of 4 boxes - 2 halves and 2 cents. I agree w/ daviscfad - if you talk to them about it and order them ahead of time, they probably wouldn't have a problem with 8 boxes.

Guess I am a little sneaky. I stop and pic up two and have my wife get two latter. Jim

Well, Jim, to be honest, I'm more sneaky too - I'll stop at a couple different banks if I want more than a couple of boxes. And I've had my wife take back the rejects in the past too - I get a little embarrassed at the looks I get from the tellers some times when I'm dumping $1,500 new Presidents / Native American dollars.

if you have to pre order them I would think the more the better for them

I've only gotten one at a time so far. I think if you have a good relationship with a teller, at least a couple of thousand in a savings/checking account, the sky could be the limit! Of course with 8 boxes, you will need a handtruck to move the things out of the bank!

I only get one at a time, though I've only gone once. Wife, kids and work soak up most of my time so taking awhile to get thru the first box.

Why the aprehension? Ask for as many as you would like to buy. I only buy 1 at a time but sometimes I can't afford to get a box so I will get anywhere from 2 to 10 bucks worth. The tellers never really seam to mind at all and I could probably buy 20 boxes if they had em and I could afford to get em. WOLF

Quote: Why the apprehension? Because I don't want to become "that guy" and all the tellers get mad when they see me walk in the door.I have a good reportare going on with the head teller and she will order me four boxes at a time with no problems.I was just wondering what the most any CCF member has ordered. Thanks, John1

I've picked up 8 boxes before and there were no problems. As long as they have the storage space, you order ahead of time and go in the vault to carry them out, they shouldn't care. Over the years, once tellers know what I'm looking for, I've had some say "Hey, I was saving these for you" the next time I came back to the branch. As long as you are friendly and courteous they should always be nice. A box of donuts, some coffee or chocolate always works too.

I agree it shouldn't be a problem as long as you are pleasant to deal with. I have had some good responses at local banks I don't even have accounts at.

Most I've gotten is one at a time but thinking about upgrading to two. More than that would be too hard to carry unless my son is with me... Or I made multiple trips in and out which I don't care to do. Though I'm still pretty new to this all so maybe I'll be placing big orders down the road!
