Wow, from the photo it looks like it melted over a light bulb! I must say the seller is a wizard to get that kind of money[:0]Mike

Just goes to show that drugs DO cause severe brain damage. What was the buyer thinking as they clicked the comfirm bid button? Why not just paint the darn coin? Or coat it in "3 mills 24K gold"? And gotta love the "only minted for 6 months" comment in the listing. Yeah, and how many gazillions can the mint coin in 6 months?

"You are bidding on one 2005 Bison Nickel rainbow toned by a special process" I thought artificially toned coins don't often go for much or wont be slabbed?

Well, as the man on the the Bridgeport commem may have said "there's a sucker born every minute" I'm no grading expert, but this would be bodybagged even by NTC!

This guy is a total joker but if people are willing to pay so much for an artificial tone more power to him I guess. Furthermore he is a shipping profiteer like so many other sellers. You can send a couple dozen rolls regardless of weight, in one 3 day priority envelope to anywhere in the country for only $3.85.

Up to 1lb. After that, the price is based on zone.

Sorry, NOS. I never even considered the envelopes. Anything that we ship Priority goes in a box. Rolls go in a box regardless of First Class or Priority. I'm always afraid that they will be cracked or broken. (Guess I don't have a lot of faith in the USPS personnel).

This new box thing seems interesting at $7.70 you can fit alot of heavy stuff in there. I've never been sent rolls in the plastic tubes so I didn't think about that. They've always come in the paper rolls.

In paper rolls, I'd be concerned with denting and damage to the edges of the coins. Any rolls I've sent, be it in a plastic tube or paper roll, I've wrapped in bubble wrap and shipped in a box. It might be overprotection, but I like to be sure that nothing will happen in transit.

Those are some wonderful points indeed. I remember when I was sent them in the envelopes they were placed in slabs of cardboard and/or further wrapped in paper towel for lots of cushioning so I hope that helped them maintain during shipping.

It's just different ways of doing things. My way is no more "right" than yours - just my preference. Because we sell so much on ebay, I feel that I need to go to a lot of extra effort to earn the positive feedback. Since ebay is the cornerstone of our business, negatives could make a big difference to us. I am sure that a lot of the precautions I take are unnecessary, but it keeps my worry level down
