Does anyone know if any other 1902 O's have this die break (E DO)? This too was in the $18 pile. This guy had a whole lot more and my son was getting tired and I ended up leaving the store. I did not get a chance to go back to him.

BTW, he also had a nice pocket piece like David's avatar and I regret not picking it up.

Thanks
Peace

As snowflakes are unique, so too are die breaks. No two varieties have the same crack or break. If your coin has this particular break, then it is 15A.

well spoken ZEE as die breaks by them selves are not the definitive of any attribution, they are unique by them selves. and can directly affirm secondary attributions....in other words without researching the
PRIMARY points. secondary points can also pin point a VAM number......

A die break of that general shape and location isn't unknown - make sure the break on your coin has the exact same shape and run as the VAMworld example. The additional cracks at CA in AMERICA and the adjacent star would be nice, too.

Yes David, the additional cracks are there too. As you know I really do not like to dabble with raw coins but when I saw this, the 82 O and a 1901 O I had to go for it as the price was in line. The 01 O has something going on under the left side tail feathers (when viewing) around the area of the clashed E. Not sure if it's PMD or something else and for the time being I have set it aside.

Fwiw, I also got a 21 Morgan and 35 Peace dollar along with around 20 buff's (about ½ of them pre 17 I believe with may be 2 or 3 1913) as a bulk buy for $30. The buff's have been messed with but the 21 and 35 are as they were circulated.

Peace
