What prices are you looking for? Current market value? Original issue price? Mint sets? Proof sets? Commemoratives?

The Red Book is a good starting point. If you can be more specific we may be able to help more.

Aaahhhh! Now we're talking! This is a bit tougher as these prices float up and down with the precious metal markets. In fact for the last couple years they've been adjusted weekly if necessary, but in the past these prices were only adjusted "as needed" and could run all year at the same price.

I don't know off hand where these prices can be found. This might be a tip for you: The U.S. Mint typically has around a 30% margin built into it's precious metal proof offerings for overhead/profit. This can vary up and down a few % of course, but lets use 30% across the board.

I bought a 1996 4-pc gold proof set a few years ago for $1,600. It was marked $999 by the original purchaser. That makes sense because gold averaged about $380/oz in 1996 so it had $703 in gold and $703/70 = $1,004. Hope this helps a little.

I looked for the same info on different coins I purchased an never kept the BOS. No where on the site will you find any reference. Try sending a letter to DOT PIO (Treasury Public Info Office) asking for historical price information for tax purposes. They might help. I finally got my info from a friend that kept his receipts (he a CPA, it figures, I still get lectured about keeping receipts).
