Is there anything that can be done to help a coin fit more snugly in my Dansco 7070? There has been a hole or two where the coin wants to rotate a bit because it is not a snug fit in the album. The hole doesn't appear to be damaged and I bought it brand new. Not a big deal, but I would prefer it stay in the place. Thanks for any tips or ideas.

You could try some glue....

But seriously, take some acid free, archival quality paper, and make a thin strip to wrap around the edge of the coin. That should make it a more snug fit.

Not sure what coins you are having problems with but the early coins that were struck in an open collar have slightly variable diameters. The only remedy I have found is to fashion a small shim out of a cardboard 2x2.

I too am having a problem with a few of the coins in my 7070. On the gold page the two quarter eagles. Then a couple of coins on the other pages.

Not that big of a deal though, they are turning a little bit every now & then. Rather then try to work out a fix, I think I'll just live with it. It's not that big of a deal to me.

I agree with biokemist. Take some high quality archival paper and cut a really thin strip - i.e., the width of the strip should be roughly the depth of the holes in the 7070. Then, as you place the coin into the hole, shape the strip into an arc and wedge it between the edge of the coin and the hole.

It's not just Dansco that has that problem. On some of my Whitman Albums the same thing happens only worse. The coins tend to slip out of the hole and slide inbtween the front sheet of paper over the slots. My solution for that was to use a double plastic slide in the front and back of each page where that happens.
I tried that small piece of clear plastic for each coin but that became a real pain in the ....... since if I changed a coin, had to play with that little piece of plastic.
I finally spent some time and using clear Duco Cement I cut a sliver of cardboard and glued it to one side of the slots, allowed several days to make sure no fumes from the glue remained. All coins now fit snug in each slot.

I thought about using the ring that you can use with some airtites. I thought that it might be more forgiving as far as getting an exact fit and it shouldn't hurt the coins. I just thought it might be hard to get just a sliver from one and to make it look right. I like the arhival paper idea. I might try that.
