The topic is all over this site on cleaning coins. The general rule is don't do it. I could not tell that this was a proof half dollar from the picture. just type this cleaning coins in the top line of the search page http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/search.asp and click on exact phrase. Leave the rest as is and you will have plenty to read on what to do about coins that want to look better. Report this Post to the Staff
