I have learned that there is silver in this type of coin. If it's dated 1323-1326 (1944-1947) it's 600 fine silver, for an ASW of .3086 ounces but if its dated 1333-1344 (1954-1965) it's copper-nickel. Any way to read the date?

oh really? I always thought the one with the lion were Cu-Ni and the ones with the Shah were silver...

Here, follow the Persian numbers

and convert it with the Persian Calendar converter here

the weight would tell you if it is silver. The silver ones are 16g, cu-ni 12g unless it is the 'thin' then it would be 9g (according to Krause). The picture/scan isn't clear enough to read the date. But 1323 would equal 1944 and then count up so if your date says 1323 - 1326 (1947), it is silver. 1333 and above cu-ni. Apparently someone decided to couterfiet a few and dated the 1322. No such date is real (again according to Krause)
