No it is not a proof, I am really sure of that, it is most likely a medium strike from a worn die and in AU58 condition. Pretty nice but fairly common pre 1960 nickel. It would be a keeper of mine if I found it.

Thanks wheezy. This one threw me off a bit because of it's luster, and lack of bag marks. I'm used to finding pre-60's stuff that's well worn and dull.

I agree with Wheezy. If a proof the steps would be very clear with no soft spots on them. Still very nice find!

Nice pull. I need to know what a roll goes for, as other dates & mm. With 1000+ rolls; I don't know where to start.

Nice luster on it - shame about the weak strike. I think AU-58 sounds good.
