I've stumbled across this coin and could really use some help identifying it. I've tried including both a verbal description as well as a picture of each side. Thanks for the help!

Side 1:
cross with diagnolly oriented lions and counteroriented castles?
the horizontal bar of the cross has two "P" at both ends and the vertical bar of the cross has two "8" at both ends

Side 2:
two vertical bars intersecting with two horizontal bars, forming 9 boxes containing the following characters:
P | 8|VR
PIV|SVL|TRA
VR | 96|P

It's Spanish colonial, a "cob-style" 8 reales from Potosi mint, in what is now Bolivia. "96" is the date, 1696. "Plus Ultra" is the Spanish motto (meaning "more beyond"), "P" is the mintmark for Potosi and "VR" is the monogram of the assayer at the Potosi mint at the time.

Needless to say, as a "pirate piece of eight" this kind of coin is very frequently copied. As a quick initial test, can you get a weight for us? A genuine 8 reales should weigh the same as a US silver dollar, or just over 27 grams.
