Quickstudy yes it does, if the coin can be easily switched then that takes all the security out of the slab itself and their slabs are no better than a raw coin because there is no way to tell if the same coin in the holder is the coin that received the authenticity and grade that is on the plastic. that is why I said ANACS will not get my business nor would I be buying a ANACS graded coin until they do something about these poor slabs they are producing. if they cant fix the new slab they need to just go back to the older slab they used to have, if it aint broke dont fix it

Thanks, Susan. We moved recently and things have been hectic. Plus, we haven't sold the house we just moved from yet, so there's no coin budget to speak of as our cash flow is currently painful due to maintaining and paying for two homes. I guess talking about it is still free. :)

Tim, I know you have some awesome pics. Did you get the email about our photo gallery. Free for members with 50 posts. If you don't have money to buy right now, maybe you can put together an album with the ones you have? [:p]
Rest in Peace

Susan, will you establish a separate thread and establish procedures for the online session with James Taylor like you did in January? The answer's probably obvious, but I had to ask.

Absolutely. It went so well in January that I think we should handle it exactly the same. If it's not broke and all...

Don't recall seeing it. If you want to send me some details about it, I'll see what I can do...

Has Anacs stopped labeling a coin cleaned in their new slabs as they did in their older slabs. I have seen some coins in the new slabs that appear to have been cleaned at least to me and not labeled as such. Just wondering if that is something I will have to look out for.

You might want to check their site to make sure, but I believe they are keeping the old holders for problem coins.

Problem coins are being put into the old slabs. All coins in the new slabs should be problem-free. The old slabs are still being properly labeled (i.e., corroded, damaged, scratched, cleaned, etc.). From what I've seen, they're pretty accurate when it comes to identifying a cleaned coin. Maybe it was just the pics that made it looked cleaned? Or did you see these coins in-hand?

No Susan it was not seen in hand. It very well could have been the pics that I was looking at. That is why I wanted to ask here. Thanks for the help.

I do not like the new holders in the least. I made my opinions of Anacs and James Taylor clear in the last Anacs site. I am still very angry and can assure you I will never send another coin to that company. Lie to me once, shame on you.....

The new Anacs coin holders is one subject that still raises my hackles. I do not like them in the least, and I do not like the people that use them. I made my position on this clear enough on the last Anacs site, but I can tell you I will never send another coin to them. Lie to me once- shame on you.....

Bryan - I think (from my experiences) that the popping open only happens for the larger coins. I have only had smaller coins graded, and I have tried to pop them, but I couldn't. So far I have received 6 free gradings because of their extremely slow turnaround time.
