i feel dumb for asking this, but this will save me time at the post office and I can print my own labels from home.

i need to ship out 1 roll of copper cents, what weight should I specifiy in Ounces..

160g for Zinc = 5.64oz

175g for Cu = 6.12oz

add a little more for packing and you should be good

3.5*50 / 28.35 = 6.12

If you can get it under 8 ounces it will be 2.41 to ship in a padded envelope. Add 17 cents for each additional ounce over 8- eg, 2.58 for 9 ounces, 2.75 for 10 ounces, etc. Above 13 ounces, have to go to priority mail I believe, which is 4.95

Good ? I ship rolls and exclude the roll. I find taping 20 nickels in 2 seperate envelopes is cheaper. I'd rather endure the extra hassle.

SDcoinguy, I think that's why this forum is here. It says up in the top left corner of the webpage that "Education is the key to collector success!"

I personally haven't found a inexpensive and safe way to ship rolls. I like fioti's solution. I would be interested in NLP Coins had to say. I bought some very nice unc rolls of wheaties from him, but I forget how he packaged them.
