Guess What! Some of you have no doubt already read where 10 of these 1933 St Gaudens will be on display at the Denver ANA Show aug 16-19
And we have been led to believe there was only one for many many years- What Next? Are you Impressed?

I dont remember anyone ever saying there was only one of these coins, just that there is only one that is legal to own. I am sure as the years go by some more will probably surface but those will be illegal to own as well. That being said I would love to go to the show just to be able to see one because I really doubt I will ever be able to see the One Legal Copy in my lifetime and this may be the last time to ever seen one of these beauties in person before the Government finally locks them away or destroys them forever

I am guessing that they will go to the National Collection at the Smithsonian. One might be placed at the ANA museum in Colorado Springs too but I have a hard time believing that they will be destroyed.

Destroyed? Never or at least not all of them.

More than one out there in the pvt sector? I wouldn't doubt it. If this is the case, I am sure the current owner would take the proper steps to insure that he/she keeps or profits from it...one way or the other.

If one showed up in Europe or Aussie, what could the US gov do about it?
Would the person be free and clear or would the other country actually care enough to extradite the person for the grave international crime of coin collecting?
As long as the coin was sold and stayed out of the US, I dont know if anything can be done against them.
If someone knows different then please state so.
