Very few coins are being submitted for grading lately. Are folk buying fewer coins and thus not submitting the for grading? I, for one, have gone from buying multiple coins weekly to not having bought one since last spring.

I go to many coin shows and I see about 40% to 60% coins in slabs. And of almost every possible TPGS you could imagine. Your statemente about not to many coins are being submitted for grading may well be due to more and more grading services so the amount of coins being graded are now spread out more. And as to coins being graded and in slabs! You just have to see what is at these shows. I've seen many coins I would be spending, not slabbing. I've seen so many of what I would say is a $1 coin in a slab that I sometimes actually walk away laughing. Not sure where you get that fact that less coins are being slabbed but like I said, may well be due to being spread out among so many TPGS's.

Yes, but also there are so many new grading companies popping up alongside basement grading companies. They're flooding the market and the trust is slipping. I personally wouldn't buy a slabbed coin just yet. There is more refining that needs to be done.
