I came across these two ebay listings that are ended today. How naive can you be to believe these are UNSEARCHED? Take the first one http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...TRK:MEWAX:ITHow would you know they were BELOW AVG CIRCULATED? How would you as the seller know they were only 1920-1929? In the description states "I SAW SOME MINT MARKED TWENTIES IN THIS LOT." How would you know this? I thought the seller said they were unsearched. Here is a link for the other listing from the same seller. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...TRK:MEWAX:IT Again, many of the same questions. Why not state in the listing that they were only searched for a couple of hours?

Maybe unsearched by the seller, but not unsearched by his/her brother, sister, mom, dad....etc.... Call me skeptical, but I would never trust an ebay auction selling anything unsearched. As for listing them this way, unfortunately, they are preying on the people who do not know any better. A new collector sees this and thinks WOW, I bet there is something really good in there. Its sad, but unfortunately common on ebay.

Somebody paid $111 for $43 worth of crappy wheats. When will they learn?

Saw one a few weeks ago that had a story attached to it, about buying some land with a barn and finding big glass jugs of wheat cents in the barn that he's now selling in unsearched lots..

this is a little off topic but I have been finding ALOT of wheats in my change all over the place lately. Is this a sign of the bad economy? My only guess is that people are spending their collections now.

That's been going on for almost 2 years now ChosenReject. Not only that, lots of us are finding some nice BU coins too.

i one of the new collectors looking on ebay and saw some of these type listing, I stayed away, I have tried to check the sellers backgraound as much as possible, also kinda look at the bidders to see if it's the same person driving up the price or if you can sort tell it's several different people and some just bailing out once the price gets a certain point, not a full proof plan, but it's better than nothing

Check out how many are selling unsearched rolls of wheat cents that just happen to have an Indian on the end. Amazing-and even more amazing-people but them.

Yeah I love the stories that involve an old barn. (sarcasm) Or how about the listings of like a dozen unsearched wheats? Where's that funny honest E-Bay seller when we need him for a good laugh?
I do believe a very few (mostly) unsearched lots do exist, but for those you usually have to leave the country, where people don't care about them as much. I've had decent luck here in Canada -- I get the feeling a hypothetical 09S-VDB would last quite a while in circulation up here.
