I found this quarter and it seems to be pure nickel. Has anyone seen this before? Absolutely no copper on the reeding.

It is probably plated for one of MANY post-mint reprocessed "sets". If so, it has no numismatic value.

You can check it by weighing it. If it weighs the same as other quarters - then my assumption is correct.

I found a New Jersey quarter several months ago that fits the description. Several people in here said that it could be one of those plated HSC (HSN?) quarters. The color looks the same as a normal quarter, but when I took a picture of it under bright light, it looked to be a darker metal. Maybe it was the platinum plated quarter. It weighed in at the usual 5.7g.

The US Mint does not use pure nickel for coins, it is a 25 Ni/75 Cu alloy. If the coin weighs the same as a normal quarter, then it is just post-mint plating.
