i found this in my change today. The coin had a circle around the middle of it. The center is depressed lower than the outside so you can feel the circle with your fingernail. Is this worth anything?

to CCF. Can you post a photo of the reverse and one without so much glare? It looks like you might have something there so hang onto it until a pro answers your post which I am not.

My guess is that it is damage from a coin rolling machine, this coin was at the end of a roll.

The pictures make it difficult to see much but I don't think it looks like counting machine damage. Better pictures would b a big help. The fact that there appears to be no distortion of the details of the coin make me think it is NOT a striking issue.I will let those much more experinced than me figure out what is going on.

Are the devices on the area outside the center circle flattened some? It may have been pressed with a washer? A closer image of both sides would help.

I'd offer roll-end also.

The mark is too far inward to be a coin wrapper injury. I just check a OBW roll and it falls in the LI of LIBERTY and this one is over the BE area. Maybe a different wrap than String uses?

if the center is lower.. is it possible the mint is doing bi-metal coins for another country? maybe one that didn't get punched through, then made it's way into the quarter planchet bin?
