Received my 6 coin lot last week
and thought I'd post one.
Five of the coins showed detail
after the initial wash, but number six
looks like it will be lounging in the
oil for some time.
Anyway, here's the one I like best and hope
will continue to improve.
Only using distiled water and an occasional
light brushing.

Tentative ID Claudius II, needs to soak in olive oil for a while for a better ID.

echizento,
Thanks for the ID,will do a search and
find out what I can about him.
All coins are now resting comfortably
in olive oil.
.....
Tim,
These came from a dealer that goes
by the name of"Coin and Confidence".

echizento,
Working with your tentative id,
it is in fact Claudius(Gothicus)II.
After another couple days(now)in olive oil
and some light brushing,I've been able to
ID the reverse as Laetitia w/corn.& wreath
and I in right.
When wet and under magnification, these features
show up nicely.Dried & scanned not(yet)so well.
Thanks to those that posted(other threads)links
to Wild Winds and Forvm Ancient Coins, both
great sites!
As the other coins continue to clean up,I'll
post scans and if someone can ID the obverse,
I(hopefully)will be able to do the rest.
Thanks again to all,
Ken
