The color looks a little odd, but that could just be the picture. If you have doubts about it you probably shouldn't buy it.

Same here, the look is unusual. Notice the eagles chest is worn, this area should indicate some shine compared to the rest of the coin. None of the high points of the coin show any shine. Unless you can weght it, measure it and even then, you still may wind up with one of the many bogus Morgans from overseas. "When in doubt, leave it out" Is this coin listed in an online auction, or from a dealer. If they provide a money back guarantee, then you may have nothing to loose.

Shine? It looks to be a mid range VF Morgan which shouldn't display any shine, if you're interchanging shine with luster. A circulated coin with "shine" has usually been cleaned. It may have been slightly dipped but it's hard to tell.

Luster or "mint bloom" (bet you haven't heard that one for a while). I'd pass as well if its "Shiny". Before I bought it for any price, I'd ask its weight and verify the return policy. I know everyone wants the elusive CCs in their collection but sometimes throwing away a hundred bucks is just crazy. Especially if you had the good sense to seek advice on the CCF. Oh, and Val, guys on the forum offer Carson City coins all the time. I picked up a couple of GSA Slabbed CCs the other day here. I think there one or two in the auction right now. I think Bherring or Biochemist6 is offering them.

It could be the photo, but I don't like the color either, I do think it looks much like the 91-CC vam5 slant date, but from the photo, I'm not positive of the MM location is correct...if the coin were more steel grey and somewhat even in color with some lighter tones on the worn points, I would think it to be genuine..

Thanks Guys. This is good lesson to buy coins from legit places and legit sellers.Seller with 20 feedback and bunch of rarities is not legit to me.Description-from grandpas collection-be careful with it.Easiest way to say -I know nothing about it.I'm not collector.Don't blame me in case you bought fake.Grandpa collection is not warranty of originality,is just nice cover up.
