Sac's are not usually my thing, but I got lucky when I stored this away back in 2000 and it toned like it did! I have to admit, it's a bit of a stunner. The obverse turned an orange gold and the reverse...well, you see what it did...

That is a beautiful tone to that coin. How was it stored?

I have never really been a fan of the Sacs, but if they all toned like this I might be! Beautiful toning!

Very simple, it's in a regular cardboard 2X2 and put in a vinyl album sheet under low humidity conditions. I have three others that I put away just like this. The other Denver one tone up similarly, on the reverse, but the Philly ones have toned pretty-much in a dull fashion.

Here are the others:

Very nice! I have always liked the reverse design on these.

your sac with the colorful reverse looks like it had some sort of
substance on it
(the mint being a dirty machine shop with many oils and solvents/cleaning agents on the floor)

when it left the mint and the substances on the coin and combined with the packaging it was in during the storage environment it developed really nice reverse toning

get it slabbed reverse side up in a pcgs holder graded I think ms 64/65 and you got a saleable $45-65 coin

get it slabbed ms 66 67 and the price starts to go up multiples

good luck with it

and yes ownership does add a point or two and also eye appeal LOL
