I would definitely ask for clearer pics or at least see the coin in hand before handing over any cash. Do a side by side of the pic in the link I posted and look closely at the chin, nose, and brow areas. It may just be me but I notice some subtle differences. Could just be a die variety I don't know.

This coin is listed in the RedBook in the section on Coins and Tokens of Hawaii. The 25cent piece is the most common of the Hawaii coins but be careful, lots of replicas exist.

Tim & all, I think I'll pass on this one. I haven't found any varieties, but the features sure are different when you see a MS66 example. I think I found this on a NGC page.

What type of dealer price would be the norm for a NGC-slabbed MS 63 Hawaiian 25 cent piece?

I have not been able to find out much info. for past sales on this particular grade and coin.

Thanks much

The title of this post should be changed to read 'Ballpark figure wanted - Hawaii 1883 25c'.

To the best of my knowledge these coins were not made in 1888.

I specifically would like to see info. on current MS 63 pricing.

Thanks
