Hi everyone, this is my best coin. I'm a new collector and am trying to figure out which are good and which are bad...I suspect this one is "good". Please let me know what you think of the grade for this very shiny 1917 cent.

Thanks

Hi, TwocentsWorth..first off.. there aren't any "bad" coins, every coin has a story..

I would say, your coin grades MS, I'm just a little afraid when you say it's "shiny"

Thanks for the replies guys, by "shiny" I meant it still has its original red patina on the coin. Hasn't browned yet, but it doesn't show any signs of cleaning either. Without cleaning lines or obvious discoloration, how would someone know if it had been previously cleaned?

Cheers

Also, I do agree that there are no "bad" coins. I have some very ugly ones that I just love looking at. I only meant that for sending in a coin to ICCS I should try to send in my best (to get the best results) only for kicks to see what its at.

When I get new coin I like to look at history charts and see what this coin may have purchased in its mint state.
