I know the feeling, but you can't be everywhere at once and can't get every good deal. And who knows, maybe the "Silver Dollars" were just Ike dollars.

My thoughts too. Every auction in this area I have been to had actual Morgans and Peace dollars going for $20-$25 even for heavily circulated common date ones. I know alot of people still call Ikes silver dollars due to their size so I wouldnt be surprised at all if they were selling bags of 10 for $60 due to ignorance of the bidders.

AND try to remember to believe half of what you see and nothing of what you hear.
AND too stories have a habit of changing each time they are told. Eventually those would be 100 Pure Silver Dollars for $6.
AND naturally all are UNSEARCHED.

Could have been Ike's. I hear them called silver dollars at every auction I see then at and have seen them go as high as $9 each for the same old average circulated ones I find a the bank for the low low price of just $1, no buyers premium and no tax.

Missing good deals happens to all of us.

You'll feel better if you keep telling yourself they were Ikes.

Foolsgold and okiepb, I need to apologize to you two!

I misread the "generous offer" from okiepb as a real offer to sell (a rules violation). I then removed both okiepb's post and Foolsgold's reply, only to realize it was a joke! $60 for ten Eisenhower dollars!

Unfortunately, what is done cannot be undone.

I need more sleep, caffeine, or both.

My favorite is when bank teller call the new small (brass) dolalrs "gold dollars."

First time a teller told me they had a gold dolar my heart almost jumped out of my throat. only took me a second or two to realize what they probably meant. Sure enough....

Oh how sweet a Double eagle at Face value would have been.

People used to tell me they could have got the same car I just bought for thousands less. Gee, wish I knew you were looking.
People have told me at a flea market they go to there is at least 10 or more coin dealers and really cheap. After a few months I finally went there and NO coin dealers at all. Those same people said you should have been here last month.
Neighbor of mine tells me of all the coins he finds around the area with his metal detector. I asked to see some, said he takes them all to the bank.

I think if you just sit down and think about it you'll remember all the massively fantastic deals you missed out on if only you knew.

And two more from me...

We all have things that we could have, would have, should have done; but it is easy to move on from those missed opportunities. Just think of all the things that did work out.
