WOW I got something you absolutely, positively can't get anywhere else, rolls of the America The Beautiful National Park Quarters. 50, 60 , 70 Times less minted than the number of State Quarters. I am sitting here watching the CSN coin pitch how does the US Mint let these guys get away with lying outright to the American public. For $39.95 you get two rolls of the quarters one P and one D mint roll you absolutely can not get these anywhere else. Now tell me how or why the government lets them say things like that. The US Mint Sells them You can attend an opening ceremony and get them So far I can get all the rolls I want from my local bank. I do not understand how they get away with lying like that if you or me did it we would be in jail the next day. The poor people that buy these not knowing any better, I feel sorry for them and mad at the US Mint for letting things like this go on guess they get their cut from the CSN also. Over and over again they are saying you can not get these coind anywhere else but here at the CSN WOW.

The Mint really has nothing to do with that. This type of thing is not really lying. It may be misleading and is often said in the context of a personal opinion, or opinion of the show etc. Coins and grading are so subjective that you really can't say, that's completely false.

yeah I remember when companies used to care about false advertisement because it ruined their reputation but now it seems the companies (along with the younger society) doesn't care about reputation any longer, they just care about what they can get right now. These guys like this are usually right on the line from right out lying and are no different than the con men that goes from door to door in retirement homes trying to swindle the older 9more trusting) generation. Sadly these are usually the ones that get taken by these shows as well because they remember a more trusting time where you would say what you mean and mean what you say. I think what I hate more than these shows is those commercials that push those gold covered Buffalo coins or the WTC coins doing everything but claiming they are pure precious metal all the way through. Most even flip between an original coin and their copies in their ad to confuse the suspecting buyer that much more. These guys make a fortune doing what they do and I doubt we see them stop in our life time because all the money they make the companies they work for doing what they do

They can say it because it is probably the truth. They will have the rolls in some holder, tube, or wrapper that has their name of something else printed on it.
The mint doesn't sell rolls in that special holder, tube, or wrapper so when they say you can't get them from the mint they are telling the truth.
The ones you get at the ceremonies or at the banks aren't in that holder, tube, or wrapper either so they are telling the truth there as well. In fact they only place you can get those rolls are from CSN So they are telling the absolute truth. The coins in the rolls aren't any different than any of them you can get anywhere else, but you can't get THEIR rolls from anyone but THEM. You have to LISTEN and think about whatever they say because they are very very good about saying one thing while getting you to infer that they are saying something else. They will be working from a script and they know just where the line of legality is and they don't cross it. They actually very seldom lie.

I agree with Conder. They are not lying, but they are definitely presenting the truth in a more favourable light. A distinction that keeps them from being shut down or going to jail.

Just like the cereal commercials where they are selling sugar coated cereal and say it's "part of this nutritious breakfast" and pan away showing of bowl of sugar loaded cereal surrounded by bananas and grapes. Yeah the fruit is good for but the product isn't.
There are so many different examples of this type of advertising. You really have to listen to what is being stated. Buyer beware.

Out right fraud, lying, slander, false statements, not the truth and if you or me did it we would be in jail.
They out right said you can not get these coin rolls anywhere else that is not lying?
The US Mint sells them cheaper.

Quote: They out right said you can not get these coin rolls anywhere else that is not lying? It is not. Because the specific rolls they show cannot be purchased anywhere else. However, what they neglect to tell you is that you can get other rolls, with the exact same coins, but in a different wrapper for a lot cheaper. The problem is that they are really selling you the package, and not the coins. A lie? No, an omission. And you have every right to be disgusted by it.

Quote: For $39.95 you get two rolls of the quarters one P and one D mint I would like that ROI myself--which explains these pitchmen.

I am sure most people can guess how you feel, if only because they feel the same way. I personally choose not to do business with them for those reasons. Not just on coins, but anything else they are peddling. Just because they are within the bounds of the law does not make it right.

You cannot get the "CSN rolls" anywhere else as they are packaged. You cannot get two rolls for $39.95 anywhere else. You can get two rolls for $20 at the bank but you can't get two rolls for $39.95 at your bank.
