I am not sure what you are referring to that sold for a million dollars, there are a couple dozen bronze 43s and steel 44s known and the top auction price has been about $220,000 with most well under $100,000. An off metal error for the 2009/2010 coins will be made even more unlikely by the fact that business strikes and Mint Set coins no longer share the same production lines. It would also be virtually impossible to have Birthplace and Formative Years off-metal errors because their production ended before the tarnish issues were worked out and Mint Set production began.
Regarding spotting issues, the black watery spots that you typically see on AU/Unc coins are caused by the mint's planchet rinse and not environmental issues. I got rolls at the LP3 and Shield release ceremonies and even those coins had spots but I have noticed that spotting issues for 2010 have been better than in the past and certainly better than some of the LP3 dogs that I had.
