WOW just cracked open two 2010 uncirculated coin sets to get the president dollars out for my albums.

WOW I am impressed at the job the US Mint did this year they are preserved good in the double hard plastic case. Not easy to get out of them. I had bought three nut have two grandsons so think I will get another one for each grandson real nice this year.

I'm a little hessitating on those this year. Every year I order about 10 to 15 of them for Christmas Presents. I never noticed how the price has jumped on thoes. Just looked and at $31.95 each, I'm wondering if this year a scarf would be better.

I am still upset that the mint sets are not true representations of what actually circulates (i.e the satin finish).

I will continue to collect my business strikes from circulation, while buying just the proof sets from the mint.

I'm not in a postiion to acquire these coins so... any chance of pics/scans?
I love the idea of passing them on to grandchildren (hope for the numismatic future).

I also have a pretty good grouch on when it comes to the "Satin Finish".......same as JB.
But I still continue to collect the Sets, I'm just very annoyed by it as I do !

may I ask why you would continue to collect them if it annoys you to do so. This is an honest question, perhaps going back to the reason people collect. Is it the future value/investment that keeps you getting them? Again, I'm really curious and I'm not trying to be judgmental even in the slightest. I collected US mint stamps for years and I finally had enough of the post office producing not only junk but lots of it. so I quit collecting it. I like what I have but I'm not buying more

I thought the 2010 uncirculated sets were harder to open this year. Seems like they used a lot more adhesive on the plastic.

I bought a couple too, not thrilled with the satin, but its something I buy to give to my son.

Ironically, that's one reason why the Mint is releasing the
America the Beautiful Quarters Circulating Coin Set
(the bulk pallets are a bit excessive just to fill your Dansco...)

Gee, some collectors must actually want business strike coins. Imagine that!

Considering how difficult it might be to find them in circulation, I might actually consider buying those for my album.
