Well using PCGS coin facts and the book "Coin Grading and Counterfeit Detection" I would say close to MS64 because the FIVE CENTS and LIBERTY are more distinct then noted in a MS63. But then again I saw some 65's that showed more wear on the motos. The lack of marks does indicate a mint strike grade and the "horn" is in great shape and nice satiny luster.
All in all, a very nice Type 1 Buffalo

Once again, this is just my opinion, I am sure there will be many others.

I have a hard time evaluating MS status for Buffalo nickels. Luster is usually weak compared to silver coins and light wear on high points is often hard to detect. However, I don't see any wear on this coin so I'll assume it's mint state. The grayish area near the top of the Indian's head and the black spot below LIBERTY will limit the grade to a maximum of MS-63 IMO.

This would make an excellent example of the type! Nice.

Very nice coin! I love the 1913 .....I was at a coin show in South St. Paul last Sunday and was shown a 1938D nickel graded by a TPG Co. can't remember which company, but anway, it was graded MS65 and I'll tell you it was the darn nicest Buffalo I'd ever seen. It had full detail of the Buffalos upper back with incredible detail of the Buffalos hair plus a horn that really stuck out, very rounded, and the obverse had incredible detail of the Indians hair. It is what I would call a BU+. It really changed how I veiw higher graded Buffalo nickel coins.....I would say the coin that is presented here looks to be a 61-62. I don't like the LIBERTY although maybe it's the photo?

Just out of curiosity. Were Buffs Known for weak striks?

Yes, especially, the Teens and 20s branch mint coins. There are some dates that do not have known full details examples.

The 1913S was noted for weak strikes, but not the 1913.
