This is a new photo. Is it better than the two below? ![1889-Morgan-Reverse:-Which-Photo-Is-Best-[new-Photo]](http://i723.photobucket.com/albums/ww232/TonysPics_2009/1889P674pixR-7.gif) I like the way both of these photos turned out, but I cannot decide which one to use. Which photo has the best details? ![1889-Morgan-Reverse:-Which-Photo-Is-Best-[new-Photo]](http://i723.photobucket.com/albums/ww232/TonysPics_2009/1889PMorganR-6.jpg) ![1889-Morgan-Reverse:-Which-Photo-Is-Best-[new-Photo]](http://i723.photobucket.com/albums/ww232/TonysPics_2009/1889PMorganR-2.jpg) Edited by CoinMeister 10/08/2010 2:30 pm

I would go with the first, it seems to show off more luster

The second... it shows more detail of the coin. look to the right of the E in ONE.. See the scratch or whatever it is? Now look at the top pic... you cant see it. With the bottom pic you can still tell this is an MS coin as the cartwheel shows well. The clash line at G of god is also easier for me to pick up on the second photo. My 2 cents.

I have to agree with the above. The first shows more luster, the second more detail. It really depends on what you want to display as to which is better.

I would like to sell it, so I guess the better question would be: Would you be more likely to buy this coin based on the first photo or the second photo?

why not both? Personally, if you are only allowed to use one, I would go with the first since I suspect a lustrous coin would be easier to sell.

If you do not show the detail, you open yourself up for returns and bad feedback. IMO for selling, use the one that shows the coin as it is, not the one that hides imperfections for a better price. I have sent back many coins or left bad feedback (for no return auctions)for coins misrepresented by pictures. Either use both, or the second... but not just the first.

If you're Ebaying it, use the first photo. If you want it graded here, use the second. The second shows far better contrast, and has fewer grading issues related to light.

Does this new photo show everything that you see in the second, and out of curiosity, do you see any imperfections in the second that are hidden by the first? ![1889-Morgan-Reverse:-Which-Photo-Is-Best-[new-Photo]](http://i723.photobucket.com/albums/ww232/TonysPics_2009/1889P674pixR-7-1.gif)

spotting on the 2nd photo, the area around the AMERI is spotted and leads me to believe its been dipped, though I could be wrong...I like the second photo better as the luster and detail is present...one must remember many times people over light a coin to imply the appearance of grand luster, and no detail is seen... the blur blind effect..

I like the original second image best, but I think you need another light source. Maybe try one at 10 o'clock and another at 2 o'clock? Your new image has too much glare for my tastes and looks like it's had a sharpen mask run on it. The detail on the eagle's breast and tail look better in the first image, but everything else looks better in the 2nd.

You do need multiple light sources to avoid shadows (which you are getting) and the contrast needs to be dropped a bit. Try putting one light at 3o'clock and one at 9o'clock... should resolve the shadow problem.
The original second photo is still best. IMO
