When I cash in my halves through the counting machine and go to the teller on the phone via webcam, would I be able to ask for a 500 dollar bill?

The last high denomination notes ($500 & $1000) were delivered to the Federal Reserve banks on July 21st, 1945.

Truth be known I sold a car a few months ago for cash. I felt less than safe holding 160 $100.00 bills in a public setting. A few of those $500 would have been nice.

Here's an idea! Lets start a grass root effort to bring back the $500 bill! With QE and future inflation, we'll need larger bills. Look at Turkey and Iraq:

Are-$500-Dollar-Bills-Still-Printed?

Wouldn't that throw currency collectors into a spin?

I think that it is more than just an idea Mike.....Congress is diligently (but unknowingly), working on that right now with bailouts and spending frenzies. I expect to see Geithner on the $500, Pelosi on the $1000, and Obama on the $10,000 shortly.

I'm disgruntled Nick (what else can I say?)

Other than it is probably better than being 'gruntled'.

Sure you can ask for one. The odds of you getting it are pretty close to nil, but ask away. Wouldn't that be awesome if you picked one up for face!
How is half searching going?

You know Z-man, I read in the Book of Life or the Cartoon Strip Agnes (Sameo sameo), once disgruntled, you can never be gruntled again. Best to wait till your married according to the Big Book, and Agnes.
