1954 Franklin Half Dollar-Squiggly - Coin Community Forum

farknarker New Member United States 28 Posts	Posted 10/12/2010 8:05 pm Anyone have any idea of what the squiggly is just to the right of the date? I've been told Red Book doesn't list any anomalies for 1954 for this coin. Just some sort of damage? Coloration seems to match adjacent numbers/letters so if it's damage, I wouldn't say it's recent. However, the overall appearance of the coin leads me to believe that it is staining and not toning due to the liquid-like splotchiness. Report this Post to the Staff
